What is DR (Domain Rating)?

DR is Domain Rating, Ahrefs’ metric. It scores a site from 0 to 100 from the unique domains that link to it, and how strong those domains are. Moz Domain Authority (DA) plays a similar role with a different formula. Neither number comes from a search engine.

What it measures

DR looks at external backlinks. How many distinct domains link in, and how much link equity those domains hold. Traffic, domain age, and spam scores are not in the formula.

The scale is relative. There is no “good” score in the abstract. Compare it with sites chasing the same keywords. Watching referring domains grow is usually more useful than staring at the integer.

What raising DR is good for

A higher DR means more — or stronger — sites link to you. Google publicly denies a ranking factor named “domain authority.” Backlinks still matter. DR is a proxy for that profile, not a promise of position.

• You can see the gap. A lower DR than competing sites is a sign the link profile is thinner
• New pages sit on a domain that already has links, instead of starting from zero
• As a linking site, you become a relatively stronger source
• Rankings are not guaranteed. Weak relevance or E-E-A-T will not be saved by DR alone

The way up is more unique referring domains. Extra links from the same site do not count as extra domains. Links from pages where people actually look for products — category roundups, directories in the same genre — tend to stick.

Listing in a directory

A directory that groups products by category is one place those links come from. List on Notus. Once it is approved, the public product page on notus.work links out to the official site. A public URL that can be indexed.

One listing adds one referring domain: Notus. It will not jump DR by itself. For a site that does not yet have that directory link, it is a way to add a backlink. The href is the URL you submitted.
